For over a decade, Cuneiform Press has specialized in publishing poetry, artists’ books, and books-about-books in the tradition of the independent press. Cuneiform is committed to publishing enduring (and occasionally ephemeral) works that negotiate critical and creative thinking, merging the latest industry trends with historically-informed typographic practices to foreground the state of the book in our contemporary cultural climate.
Cuneiform enlivens the discourse of the book by bringing meaningful texts and images together in the form of quality publications. In addition to publishing, we believe that facilitating conversation between local and international writers, artists, scholars, and artisans is part of our mission. To that end, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, internships, research, and public outreach are an essential part of our daily operations.
Our goal is to continue to publish innovative writings on the art of the book, contemporary poetry, artists’ books, and works that challenge our notions of what these genres might be.
